What file types can I upload?
You can upload any file type including documents, images, videos, audio files, archives, and more. There are no restrictions on file types.
What is the maximum file size I can upload?
Free users can upload files up to 2GB. Paid plans support larger files: Plan 1 (4GB), Plan 2 (8GB), and Plan 3 (16GB) per file.
Can I upload folders?
Yes! All paid plans support folder uploads while maintaining the directory structure. Free users can upload individual files.
How do I share files with others?
After uploading, you'll receive a secure share link. Simply copy and send this link to anyone you want to share the file with.
Security & Privacy
How secure are my files?
All files are encrypted using AES-256 encryption before upload. We use enterprise-grade security measures and are SOC 2 Type II compliant.
Can FileShare access my files?
No. We use zero-knowledge architecture, meaning we cannot access or read your files. Only you and people with the share link can access them.
Are my files scanned or indexed?
No. We do not scan, index, or analyze the content of your files. Your privacy is completely protected.
What happens if someone gets my share link?
Share links are designed to be secure, but if someone unauthorized gets access, you can revoke the link immediately from your dashboard.
File Expiration
How long do files stay available?
Free files are automatically deleted after 24 hours or after being downloaded once. Paid plans allow you to set custom expiration times or use permanent storage.
Can I extend the expiration time?
Yes, with paid plans you can extend expiration times or set files to never expire. Free files cannot be extended.
What happens when a file expires?
Expired files are permanently deleted from our servers and cannot be recovered. The share link will no longer work.
Can I recover deleted files?
No, once files are deleted (either automatically or manually), they cannot be recovered. This is by design for security and privacy.
Account & Billing
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required for the free tier. However, creating an account gives you access to your file history, dashboard, and paid plan features.
How does billing work?
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. You can cancel anytime, and we offer a 14-day free trial for all paid plans.
Can I change my plan anytime?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately with prorated billing.
What payment methods do you accept?
